Yes, you can go anywhere in the EU. Be careful with cash withdrawals at the machine. Some public banks charge high fees! With my Mastercard credit card, I can withdraw money for free.

Yes you can pay with your normal sparkass card in Austria. No problem. I moved from Germany to Austria at the end of November and paid with my normal sparkassenkarte here at the beginning. The only thing you can’t do here is drag account statements or look at the machine how your account is.

Doesn’t have anything to do with a card payment is not a bank transfer.

If the card has a Maestro or V-Pay logo, go. Otherwise not.
