Pay for items on Vinted with bank transfer?

Hello, I want to buy a fairly expensive jacket (€150) on Vinted and pay by bank transfer. Am I protected if I get scammed, i.e., if the item never arrives? I had this experience with PayPal Friends & Family a few weeks ago, and now I want to avoid this by paying by bank transfer.

Am I protected when I get cheated, that means if the article never arrives?

No, not at all. A transfer is gone and can no longer be recovered.

You make yourself punishable for community fraud to PayPal by paying to strangers by family and friends. Therefore, I would never use this for payment anyway.

You should use the mechanisms that the platform also offers. So no transfer outside the system. No communication outside the system. No paypal or anything else. I would recommend paying exclusively by credit card.

I would buy expensive stuff in the store or via cash payment and pickup. You never have the guarantee, whether in the package is what is offered.

I’m just wondering if you know what a transfer is, because at Vinted you can’t pay by bank transfer.

No.
If you pay by bank transfer, it’s like giving money. If you don’t get the merchandise, you’ve had bad luck.

The same applies of course to Paypal Friends&Family.

Why do you only question payment methods where you have no protection and can be easily removed? It doesn’t make any sense at all!

There are payment methods with buyer protection. Why don’t you use it?

And otherwise personal pickup with cash payment is the safest way.

No, you’re not.

You are protected only with Paypal PRODUCTS AND SERVICES.
More or less.

The best protection is cash payment and pickup on site.
