Past or future?

Hello everyone.

I always thought " ab " (from) explained an event that would happen in the present/future. But sometimes I see sentences where it's used in the past tense, e.g.:
I started working at 9 a.m. //
Yesterday I was awake from six o'clock (can I use "since"?).

I’ve been working since 9:00.

If you are used temporally in the past, this means that the time period mentioned ends before a certain time. If time lasts, you’ve been using.

That sounds absolutely conclusive for me. And I’ve joined again. Thanks for that.

No, a time from the past with history to now is “since…”

A course for the future begins “ab…”
