Does this frame size fit me?
Hello everyone
I want to buy a bike that is only available in size 56.
An online calculator says the size is okay, but a guy in the store says it's almost too big. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about this, so I need your advice.
It is a singlespeed bike (men)
I am 171-172cm, leg length 85cm
I want to be able to drive to work
Thank you in advance 🙂
The wheel is too large for you, not necessarily the seat tube height, but above all the top tube length, as a men’s wheel.
For your body size, if you had male body construction, 50-52cm frame size (seat tube length) with a race wheel (single speeder have similar dimensions) with horizontal upper tube would be approximately suitable.
As a woman it may be a little more, about 54cm of seat tube length, but with shorter upper tube! The OR length should be around the 48-50cm instead of the 53-54cm standard for this frame size.
It would be possible at most if the desired wheel type was generally manufactured with a shorter top tube. In part, the exact frame data can be seen in the offer.
If you put the saddle down very far, it will move forward. It can also be adjusted forward and rear, but limited. That’s how you have to step more down, instead of going forward. This can be unpleasant in the long run.
The frame size does not necessarily match your body parameters. The “Type in the Shop” is quite right.
But what you do not mention: How old are you, you can still grow and the bike has a crossbar (Herrenrad)
Otherwise, you can drive every bike where you get to the ground from the saddle with the toes. Each wheel actually also has the possibility to adjust the saddle height and the handlebar.
Hi 🙂 it is a men’s wheel therefore with the rod in the middle. I have already grown, but I am with my shoes on the 174-175cm. I would also have no problem putting the saddle down completely
at 172cm an inner leg length of 85cm i doubt
at Canyon and 172cm would have a frame height of 50cm for racing bikes
So would you rather tell me about it?
if you are still growing, then a larger frame would be beneficial
But I would still correct the length of the inner leg
