Is poplar poisonous to Roman snails?
I found a (probably) poplar tree, or rather a poplar root, washed it and placed it in the aquarium. It now has a small shoot with leaves. Is it poisonous to Roman snails?
Is this perhaps something else?

Hello folks, Today I noticed some small creatures on my plant, which is in a large pot. From the outside, they look like maggots or worms. Now I have photographed it and pulled it closer it moves like a centipede Do you know what is in the pot and whether it is a pest for…
Hello everyone, I have some questions for you 🙂 One of my swordtail dragons has a white mouth, and I think it's a fungus. Can I treat it with salt water? If so, how much, and should I put it in a separate tank? How susceptible are clown loaches and antenna catfish to salt? I…
Hey, my doe died and the 7-year-old buck was left alone. We looked everywhere for a new rabbit. We now have a new doe, 2.5 years old. The breeder said it was okay given her age, so we took the little one with us, but it didn't work out. The vet said we should spay…
Which supply system did you switch from to which other supply system and what was your reason for the switch?
Hello, I'm getting budgies soon and I wanted to ask if I should get one first or two because I could try to tame one budgie and then buy the other one, or should I buy two at once?
It’s hard to say which plant is on the photo. The hairy leaves and branches are more likely to speak against poplars or the efeu mentioned by predatory cats.
Both poplar and efeu are toxic.
Poplar contains alkaloids. Green poplar buds were used by Druiden and “Hexen” as Halluzinogen.
Efeu contains saponin.
To what extent both have an influence on vineyard snails I can’t say.
In general, you should make yourself smart before importing something into the aquarium/terrarium. In addition to toxic parts of plants, fungi and bacteria can also be introduced.
I recommend in principle to sterilize roots, gravel and stones before use by heating to at least 60 degrees….
Thanks, yes the root was rinsed with about 70° hot water
It’s more like a piece of efeu and the snails don’t eat it.
Thank you very much, my plant identification app has been mistaken.
Lol. Did you really get out of a paper to make an underwater plant?
Terrarium is meant
It was meant to be an aquarium, it is used as a terrarium. :3
Sure!
