Package delivered incorrectly?

I ordered a few new shafts to build arrows.

However, the retailer sent it to my old address. Now I see in the tracking information that DHL simply left it there, even though I didn't give them permission to leave it.

I asked my old neighbors. They said there was nothing there.

What now? Who is liable? The retailer or DHL?

Because both of them screwed up. The dealer because they sent it to the wrong address, and DHL because they simply left it there, at least according to the tracking information?

You have to deal with the problem exclusively with the seller and this with DHL.

Except he has indicated the wrong address, it is the responsibility of buyers to indicate the correct one.

Aha, that thus frees DHL from liability, although there was no deposit agreement, and the name there was no longer to be found.
In a comment that was deleted, however, the FS also wrote that he had probably given the new address, but the seller still sent to the old address.

The dealer won’t have sent it to your old address for no reason.

If you specified the wrong address, it’s your fault. If you specified the right one and the VK somehow sent it to your old one, it’s the fault of the seller and you get replacement.

If it was a replacement delivery for a defective article, the and the previous address must be sent if this is not explicitly stated otherwise.

Where did they get the old address? Was the original order with the defective part on this address?

On the one hand, it’s your fault, because you didn’t pay attention to the right address, and on the other hand, DHL shouldn’t have just dropped the package, but have to send it back to the sender because you don’t live there anymore. I hope you removed your name sign from the mailbox and ring.
