Pain after tooth filling?
Good evening everyone.
I had a filling in a molar today. According to the dentist, the drilling had to be relatively deep, but not all the way to the nerve. I had no pain before the treatment, but after the anesthesia wore off, I immediately felt severe pain in the treated tooth, which hasn't improved since (it's been about 5 hours since the treatment).
I had already been told that the tooth might be a little sensitive for the next few days, but the pain I have is much worse than, for example, after my wisdom tooth surgery and even 800mg of ibuprofen had little effect.
Is this still possible or should I make another appointment tomorrow?
See your dentist tomorrow.
Pain after filling is “normal”.
What can be:
(1) It was drilled deep and the nerve is irritated, should lay down itself in the coming days.
2) The filling is too "high". This can naturally be adapted to the dentist.
3) The filling is leaky.
The pain should be stable at 1 and 2.
If you have unbearable pain, maybe 3) is the cause.
You can only tell your dentist more precisely.
Thanks for the star 🙂
Hello,
I'd be in your place if there's no biting better tomorrow to go again.
