pagefile.sys and hiberfil.sys use a lot of memory?

Hi,

Thanks to a strange thing that I can't really explain, my RAM was briefly overloaded, but I quickly sorted it out.

But then I noticed that I suddenly had about 50GB less memory. When I checked, I saw that pagefile.sys and hiberfil.sys were using 47.7GB and 6.3GB of memory, respectively.

What exactly is that?
How do I get them to give me back my storage? Can I just delete the stuff?

I also agree with the answer. The explanation: A process was programmed so that a memory leak was created and then "swapped" (so the RAM on the plate was expanded). This happens when you forget to release the allocated memory in C and when storage-resistant drivers were developed by someone who has little idea of C/C++. What you can do is take care of when you install, but it also affects other software and games that have simply been programmed badly. No viruses. I'm working on it: Link

pagefile.sys = Replacement file in the settings.
hiberfil.sys = Disable state of rest in settings.

And it’s all right. This is usually the first thing to do after a Windows installation.

Normally it doesn’t bother but you’re close to storage.

Otherwise, see answer @knut-wiebel

pagefilefile is the exposition file. – Unused memory is “parked” here

Hiberfile.sys is required to send the PC to sleep mode (the file then contains the contents of the memory.
