Overwatch 2 rendering device has been lost?

I installed a new GPU, an AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT OC. Since then, I've been getting these messages EVERY TIME. This never happened before, and it doesn't happen with any other game. I have all the updates and driver updates installed.

I also read that it could be because I have an OC GPU, but I don't know how to prevent overclocking

What should I do?

Heyy ,

It seems that the problem is caused by the new GPU or by overclocking (OC). Here are a few steps you can try:

1. Disable GPU overclocking:

Open the software you have overclocked your GPU (e.g. AMD Radeon Software or MSI Afterburner).

Reset the GPU clock to the default value or completely deactivate the overclocking.

Check whether the problem continues.

Two. Reinstall driver:

Sometimes a clean installation of graphics card drivers can help. Go to the AMD website and download the latest driver for the RX 7600 XT.

Use the DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) tool to completely remove all old drivers and then install the latest driver.

3. Enable V-Sync or FPS-Limiter:

Attempts to limit FPS to a fixed value in Overwatch 2 (e.g. 60 or 120 FPS). This could make the GPU more stable and avoid the problem.

4. DirectX and other settings:

In the Overwatch 2 settings, you can also try to convert the API from DirectX to DirectX 11 instead of DirectX 12, as there may occasionally be problems with DX12.

Check if the game is patched to the latest version and try to change the settings.

Five. Check energy settings:

Go into your PC’s energy options and make sure that the “heavy power” mode is activated to increase stability.

If none of these steps helps, it could also be a hardware problem, for example the GPU itself. In this case, you should consider the

Contact the manufacturer’s support.

Can only join me here. Had exactly the same problem and it was overclocking or Undervolting. I also have the same card so rx7600xt and I say so it is really a bit fragile in my experience in overclocking or generally achieving a better performance. I’ve found that it’s just the most stable on standard settings. If your drivers are new, and Amd is set to default over the “performance” setting on your graphics card, the problem should not appear anymore. I’m sure it has something else to do with it.

The error message is quite non-essential. It almost always comes when your graphics API has an error that is difficult to fix.

The best thing is to update the graphics driver and reinstall the game if necessary.

If you don’t have to contact Blizzard support.
