I also say “running”, I am from the southern OÖ. Austrian standard German is quite different from German bardard German, can “run” me, like “Jänner” and “eh” and “Haube” as well as Austrian high German. I can’t even understand the comments of not being independent. What do they say to the Muhr, the Dollinger or the Ranzmayer in their books? The Sedlaczek? Please do not read German linguists: they are too far away from the matter and somehow trimmed to unified German. This is against me and I don’t know why they don’t think, like the Anglists: several standards.

“running”… sounds pretty funny.

Depends on the regions in D, as they call it. In Bavaria

for example, one speaks differently than in East Friesland…

own Austrian language is not available; the official language in Austria

is German, not “Austrian” …
