Operate bicycle light without dynamo?

Hello,

I'm planning on equipping my bike with a front-mounted motor, which means I have to remove the dynamo. But now I have the problem that I still need to power the lights somehow. I noticed that my controller has a 6V light connection, just like the dynamo, but it's direct current, and the current coming out of the dynamo is alternating current. So can I also power the lights with direct current, or will that damage them?

This does not matter whether it is alternating or direct current

Yes, LEDs need DC, and the right poled around. It works anyway. The rectifier circuit (diodes) also directs DC voltage to the correct (internal) poles. If you don't have a reason to switch plug contacts.

If it is LED, then only DC, it is a light bulb that doesn't matter.

Take plug-in lights! These are permissible according to StVZO.

Great idea there is already a big Accu with you and you're working with Acculamps
