Opel in Chinese?
Hello and good day dear car friends.
Some people may or may not be familiar with this issue. I haven't found anything helpful online. I have a small but annoying problem:
I changed my car radio a while ago. I installed a radio with CarPlay functionality, and since then, strangely enough, the small screen that displays general information like tire pressure, speed, engine oil life, and so on has been in Chinese. The radio itself is in German.
I haven't been to an Opel service center yet, because I thought I could fix the problem myself. But to no avail. From disconnecting and reconnecting the battery to using the OBD II diagnostics, I've tried almost everything. It says online that I can do it myself with the indicators or with the buttons on the indicators. However, there's no menu item for that.
I've attached some pictures for you; I hope one of you can offer some helpful advice. I also read something online about getting married, getting divorced, and the engine control unit. Unfortunately, I can't say whether that's true or not.
Thank you very much in advance for your answers
The problem will be that the old radio was not encoded from the control unit, which can only be the Opel dealer. Then a new system came up with what doesn’t fit in at all and doesn’t really mess with the CanBus. Now the fun factor comes: to be able to program the old radio out, it must be back in. The rest, as if the language is final, only goes with the Opeltester
So eat…
Go to the FOH. Probably this is only a small thing that can be changed with little effort.
