Only print black, other cartridges empty?
I have the HP Officejet, 2 cartridges are empty & I now only want to print in black (black 100% full).
When I tell my cell phone and PC that I want to print a black and white document, the printer always gives me an error message telling me to change the cartridges.
What am I missing? After a brief search, I haven't found a solution, but that can't be the reality with a modern printer.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Eventl. there is the setting in the printer driver only s/w or print grayscales. With some drivers you can put the hook. And not out of a program, but directly out of the operating system under the printers. Only there is the adjustment for all further prints.
Why don’t you try to solve your problem here? https://support.hp.com/en-de/contact or give the precise type designation.
HP insists that all cartridges are filled, even if you only want to print S/W.

“To continue printing, remove the empty cartridge from the printer. If the single cartridge mode message is displayed, click OK.
If you use the black print cartridge, the print output is black and white (grey levels). If you use the color print cartridge, the colors are printed normally, but black is printed brighter than usual. You can continue printing until the print quality is no longer satisfactory.”
Unfortunately, if the model does not work, it is described below – only goes with a few old.
Oh, I’m sorry. Very annoying.
Exchange hardware, laser printer, S/W is enough.
