Only partially broken laptop keyboard, what to do?
My laptop keyboard is broken on a few important keys, but otherwise it works perfectly. I've replaced the keyboard and don't know what to do with the old one, since most of it still works perfectly, and only a few keys are malfunctioning.
It would be a shame to throw it in the trash, as most of it still works. Selling it individually isn't an option either, as you can only unscrew the entire keyboard. Local repair shops can't help me either, as they all try to talk me into buying a new keyboard, which I've already done myself. I've tried every online tip to "repair" the individual keys, but all I can find are tutorials on how to clean the individual keys. However, my keyboard is pretty clean, so that can't be the problem. I'm also afraid of damaging something further, as you can only unscrew the entire keyboard. It's an HP Pavilion gaming laptop.
What should I do with my laptop keyboard if I'm not familiar with proper repairs and don't know the problem? I find that most "computer repair shops" these days are either too incompetent or greedy and can only replace things that can be fixed by unscrewing them.
What can I do with the keyboard now without creating avoidable waste?
Guaranteed?
Otherwise buy new or live with it.
