On which storage medium do you back up the data?

This question is out of curiosity 🙂 (What storage medium do you use to back up your data?) USB stick, external hard drive, or something similar? + Explanation, please.

Internal hard drives.

I’ll keep the data on it and take it out. Also gives docks and hotswap shafts if you don’t want to open the case. SATA is normally also hotswap capable, so you can also install and expand hard drives during running operation.

I also store important data encrypted in the cloud, but not everything

Both USB Stick virtually daily and external hard drive monthly.

To this end, a backup in the cloud (for a paid provider from Germany that meets the GDPR and encrypts the data), 3-2-1 rule: Data always

  • 3Factory
  • On at least 2 different devices
  • and one out of house

Hey,

all my personal data are saved once live in the cloud and in addition I make a backup on an external, encrypted hard disk every 2-4 weeks.

NAS that is syncronized with another NAS outside

To do this monthly full backup on three different hard drives, which in turn store at three different locations, of which two are always outside

One correct fuse is preferably three different Media.

For example: hard drive, USB stick, cloud.
