Vintage car door lock stuck?
Hello, I have an old Toyota MR2 AW11 (very old). I bought it recently, and before that, it had only been standing for 10 years. A friend of mine locked the door. But now I can't open the driver's side door. It's really strange, as if there's a lock in there or something. I can turn the key a little, but then it won't go any further. What can I do, and how do I open it?
Put a little graphite or at least WD 40 in the lock and turn the key in and out. If it’s really solid, I’d start with WD 40.

First you try to narrow the key and then you move it in both directions. If this does not help, you can open the passenger door with the key and then manually open the lock on the driver side from inside with the bolt.
Then you can take the castle out and clean well with gasoline and lubricate it again.
It can be good that the key type is already quite worn by the many actuations, but you can make new keys with the key number. The key number is indicated on a small sheet metal chain at the keychain (e.g. K043) or then punched on the lock on the passenger side.
Have fun preparing this AW11. I bought such an MR2 in red/black as the first customer in Switzerland and went to visit my friends in the GDR. They all believed it was an Italian-proof noble sports car.

Lubricant?
Oil?
If this does not use: building, cleaning and rebuilding the castle
Wd40?
But if it’s blocked, it can stick together even more, but I don’t have to worry about it?
No wd40 is a lot of wash gasoline in the more ne flushing than oils!
Okay, thanks. 😊
Disassemble and clean.
