OCD dealing with girlfriend?

Hello ,

I have OCD, or obsessive-compulsive disorder, and it's very severe for me, and I don't talk about it with my best friend because I'm kind of ashamed of it.

But she knows that I have obsessive-compulsive disorder, just not how. And the problem is, we're on vacation together right now, and logically, I have to deal with my compulsions here too, and she's totally aware of it, and then she doesn't react in a particularly helpful way and makes me look like an idiot.

I asked her a favor, asking if she could perform a compulsion for me because I really didn't have the strength for it, but I had to satisfy it. My therapist always says that I shouldn't let other people perform my compulsions, but they're just small things, and it helps me a lot. My question is, how would you feel if someone with OCD asked you to perform a compulsion? My best friend seemed very angry, and that's completely normal to me, but it must have been really weird for her.

Thanks for the answers:)

Absolutely fail. Others imposing your disease is absolutely not in order. You owe her a detailed explanation of your illness and an apology.

And clearly your girlfriend has no idea of your illness because you don’t like to enlighten her, but then you ask her to force her to carry out

Please apologise and inform her

In addition, they never let them do something again
