Nvidia driver update not working?

Good morning

I had to reinstall Windows. I've set everything up, downloaded the CPU driver, installed all Windows updates, and finally, I wanted to update my GeForce Experience driver, as I usually do, because it's currently on version 382.05 from 2017. Now I wanted to update the driver to version 561.09 from September 11, 2024. I ran it through earlier, it took several hours, and finally, it crashed. Now I've tried again, and it's taking forever again. It keeps getting stuck on "Preparing installation."

what can I do about it?

PS: I have the MSI GT72S 6QE Dominator Pro G with the GeForce GTX 980M graphics card

According to the link for more information at https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1888?viewlocale=de_DE&locale=en_US , ML1860 is included. After installation, I only found entries for HP. Officially, I violate the requirements with macOS 12.5. Are there other ways to get the driver?

Take the Game Ready driver directly from NVIDIA.

But maybe the installed one from 2017 is the “best” that still supports your mobile GPU from 2014.
