There are programs with which data can be safely deleted or by their use the restoration is made difficult to impossible. There are various software offerings from free to charge as well as a source-open and as a proprietary application without knowing what is happening in the background.

If you want to try a software for something that is just about such small everyday helpers, you can enjoy browsing on GitHub. There you often find the one or other program that comes without a lot of buckling. The source code is visible and can thus also be extended by own ideas.

No matter what it is… if there’s something free, it’s not free for a long time.

No trader who puts something on the market can afford to put some free on the market, because it has to be cost-effective.

You should always be mistrustful when someone offers you something free while taking your data.

I agree with your statement, but note that there are certainly free offers without any background. At least none of them aim to capture and reuse any user data.

A healthy mistrust is never reversed, you should not submit any malicious intentions to any free offer. Just as a small software developer, it can only be a form of own advertising.

My comment is not a critique of you, but just wanted to write a supplementary marginal note. Just because developers don’t want a winning goal behind any software product (including projects for their own portfolio).
