Well, not really.

Since I also play games on the PC eventually comes a natural end to performance. For example, iahc also had a phenom, but if this stop runs completely on stop when playing and the game becomes practically unplayable (when you can change little, at GPU you can turn the graphics down, at CPU you have bad cards) then a new one will be due.

So: I don’t care how old a computer is. As long as it meets the requirements placed on it, it is used. If he no longer meets them, he will be replaced. This is usually the case after about 8 years. Depending on how the hardware requirements develop.

Hardware is one, software the other. Going into the network with Windows XP would make me feel comfortable.

From the past, I got off with a small Cray(T3D) . This is functional in a technical museum. Practical loan as I currently have no place to accommodate you somewhere.

Looks like this model on the picture only the side walls are blue instead of red and the smaller unit has a yellow lid on top.

So a PC NOT working with Windows is for more power than your box, also more power:-)

If you just want to work with it, it’s okay…

Mine is minimally new, but still Uralt…

However, I use an I7 – 950 of the first generation with 24 GB Ram and a professional motherboard (socket LGA1366). I also have a GTX750 😉

This computer runs almost 24/7 and has been running for over 12 years

Initially WIN 7 was on it, but this was eventually replaced by Win 10…

You can use them, but I don’t have ddr2 anymore because it is no longer powerful enough for my needs.

Have also many older pcs at my home and occasionally use it.

The oldest where I use has a 3dfx Voodoo 5 5500 in it

Matrox should be your term:-)

Unfortunately not (more).

Because the fact that I also have to work with “virtual PC’s” has meanwhile made the 8GB memory too small.

The CPU also had “only” 4 cores, which braked the PC.

Do I belong here to the dust?

P1 MMX 200Mhz, 16MB SDRAM, 10GB HDD, Matrox Mystique 220, 2x Voodoo 2 12MB and a Sound Blaster 16 ISA. To do this, keep the mandatory disk drive and even a CD burner.

Just because the support has been shut off from the operating system, the operating system is still not bad. Microsoft itself does not protect you from viruses anymore, installing a good abti malware service and good is. Better than this microsoft defender. That had taken forever until I got it, had to completely delete the defender from my operating system to install my own bought antivirus program

I use a 10 year old Toshiba notebook with the 32-bit version of Windows10!
