Not breathing automatically?

Of course, I'm still breathing, but it often happens that I simply stop breathing automatically for a short time. It's only ever for about 10-20 seconds, but it's scary. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Even when I'm sleeping, I sometimes wake up and don't breathe after waking up. I don't know exactly why, of course, but I feel like I'm waking up because I wasn't breathing while I was sleeping.

If you woke up because you didn’t breathe in your sleep, you’d be struggling for air in your wake!

the fact that you don’t already have every night is proof that your breathing works perfectly!

hm I think you think too much about breathing that it no longer works “automatically” and you’re afraid to just stop breathing and then suffocate.

Maybe you’re starting a fruit-ructitious sleep apnoe syndrome? Ask your doctor for an examination with a diagnostic device/mobile sleep laboratory.
