Norden im Gran Canaria im Mai nicht als Badeurlaub möglich?
Wir haben Mitte Mai eine Reise nach Las Palmas, Gran Canaria gebucht. Wir sind nicht so sehr die Wandervögel, eher die Badefreunde. Nun habe ich vermehrt gelesen, dass man zu einem Badeurlaub auf Gran Canaria unbedingt in den Süden der Insel fliegen sollte, da es dort viel wärmer und sonniger wäre. Hat jemand Erfahrung? Ist der Norden echt oft wolkenverhangen und regnerisch während man im Süden Sonne pur genießen kann? Wir wissen nicht, ob wir versuchen sollten umzubuchen…

In the south almost all beaches are right. Flying can only be to the north, there is only one airport. If you prefer a house at the many beaches then look if you can change the hotel, but not always possible.
The island is otherwise very small, around the 50km diameter. I have seen the extreme weather differences in Tenerife. But it had also experienced that I drove through a short rainfront that was quickly gone again, but higher and in November.
If you can’t change the hotel, or only with high costs, then take a car and drive down is about 40 minutes.
The weather is less a problem there, because of wind is somewhat cooler (in May still hot enough) but just as sunny as the south, only in the north there are hardly any beaches suitable for bathing, a lot of rock, a lot of fire. To bathe I would not recommend the north.
