Nominal group?

Hey, I'm currently learning German and I just don't understand what a nominal group is, nor what an attribute is, because there are thousands of different variants!!! 🙁

Can someone help me and explain it in their own words?
And how do I recognize it? Or better yet, just tell me everything you know about it, otherwise I'll get desperate.

Nomen = main word

A nominal group is a word group [usually article (+ adjective)+ main word], in which a main word (nomen) occurs.
(I hope my effort to simplify has not led to a faulty explanation).
