No WiFi in the apartment, what to do?

I've moved and the Wi-Fi technicians won't be arriving for a few weeks.

What are alternatives to Wi-Fi to bridge the gap? Are these Aldi prepaid cards a good idea, or how have you bridged the gap?

With a surf stick or an LTE router (possibly used). They're usually only used for this purpose. It works with a data SIM card.

And

Wi-Fi is

Wireless Local Area Network

A local radio network

This is what a router generates as soon as it's plugged in. You can't access the internet with it, but you can only print. If the printer has Wi-Fi, nothing more!

To use the internet, you'll need the activation date in your case. But take a look at the manual. You might not even need a technician. You can tell by the LEDs. Many routers have separate displays.

Signal reception e.g. DSL

If one of your LEDs matches, the status would be "Up" (printer). You don't need a technician. You just need to wait for the switch-on date.

However, you can only access the Internet with e.g. online; from the switching date.

Du könntest dir einen Mobilfunk-WLAN-Router holen, die gibt es oft mit nutzungsbasierter Abrechnung.

Beispiel: https://www.vodafone.de/privat/internet/gigacube/flex.html?tariffId=2474&deviceId=55716

Could it be that you are confusing Wi-Fi and Internet?

You can provide the Wi-Fi yourself (with a Wi-Fi access point), while the technicians will provide internet access and perhaps even install the Wi-Fi router.

Das lohnt sich, wenn Du weißt wieviel Datenvolumen Du verbraten willst und den passenden Tarif nimmst. Der S Tarif bietet max. 2GByte, danach wird Dein Download auf ISDN-Qualität gedrosselt.

Just don't use WiFi😁

You can play games offline just as well. It's a bit of a hobby, but it's a good way to pass the time. If you still have some data on your mobile, you can use it there, too.

Or if you really need internet, go to a McCes and use the wifi there.

If you have a mobile phone with a contract (preferably Telekom), then use hotspot or USB tethering

Ask your neighbor politely if you can use their Wi-Fi for a month and give them €20. You probably won't get it cheaper anyway.
