No more emails after logging back into Google?

Recently, I stopped receiving emails from Gmail on my Mac (10.14.6, Apple Mail). I can't send them either. So I tried to log in via the web interface and was prompted to create a .gmail.com address. I did that, but now I can only access this (uninteresting to me) Gmail account. The email program still doesn't work. The email address has its own domain and worked without problems for years.

Apparently my email address was linked to Gmail at some point, but I don't know when or how.

The strange thing is: it works perfectly fine on the iPhone.

How do I access my emails and what do I need to do to get my email program working again?

For weeks, I've been receiving emails from the Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, asking me in Dutch to attend an appointment in The Hague. I understand that I've supposedly applied for social assistance and therefore have to appear in person. Can anyone make sense of this?

difficult to answer. I’d look at the IP for the settings.

if necessary, there was something wrong in the Apple Mail. I’ve never been a friend of Apple Mail and I’ve always been using Outlook or Thunderbird.

the IP settings are standard. The internet connection can’t be it, everything else works quite normal…
