Hi, I'm doing a presentation about New York. One of the things in my outline is the boroughs. I have the history of New York, etc., but now it says New York City boroughs, and NYC and New York are two different things. I'm totally confused. Will it still help if I write down the boroughs of NYC and tell a bit about the boroughs? It's still in New York.

New York is the state (with capital Albany), New York City (NYC) is the city. So two different things.
The five Boroughs are the neighborhoods of New York City: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Staten Island.
As a tour, you often stay in Manhattan, while the other Boroughs are more likely to find residential areas.
the question is, is your presentation about the state or the city of New York? (Before you write page by page and in the end it is missing subject)
New York is the state with the capital Albany.
NYC the city with its 5 Boroughs.
It makes sense when you deal with the Boroughs and write about them.
