New kitten has moved in?

Good evening dear Gutefragen Community

Since Friday (01.03.24) my kitten (female maincon mix) has moved in with me.

My question is divided into 2 directions

First, there's the kitten (Korra). Even though I'm in the same room as her and Johnny (the 4-year-old male cat), I'm lying on the cat wall and doing nothing, she sometimes meows very loudly, usually in a very strange tone. She has everything she needs; she sometimes even meows while eating or drinking.

Why is this happening and how long does it last?

She is very trusting and cuddles up to me to sleep

The second question concerns Johnny (4 years old)

Since the little one moved in, he has been watching her very often and follows her from time to time. They also sniff each other occasionally, which is fine, but since Friday he has been very jumpy. If I get up too quickly, he jumps up and runs off (sometimes not always), even though nothing has happened. How long does this last?

I thank you in advance to everyone who gives me advice or general answers.

Ps the male (Johnny) neutered since 27.01.24

Hello and good evening,

First, it’s about kitten (Korra) although I’m in the same room as her and Johnny(the crater 4J) just lying on the cat wall and nix does sometimes maw her very loud and usually in a very strange ton. She has everything she needs, sometimes even eating or drinking

What is it and how long does it last?

The kitten is sad, lonely, misses his family and can’t start with your cat. It feels alone and insecure in the new environment, misses his mother and throw siblings, doesn’t know in your apartment that way and needs support, security, attention and compassion.

Everything looks different, everything smells different, a “dangerous” much to old cat that smells completely different than the cat’s mother.

Since the little one has been drawn he observes them very hard and runs her back and forth after them also sniffingly off as far as ok but he has been very scary since Friday I jumped too fast he jumps up and skins off (sometimes not always) though nix has happened as long as it grows on

In Johnny’s precinct, a strange animal has been set that smells differently, is perceived as a potential competitor and, since the artelossin is far too young, he can’t start with it. In addition, he pushes the kitten too much, looks more like he wants it to be gone than he welcomes it.

In addition, he now has to share the resource “loving man” with a strange cat, which is also completely deterrently calling for her mother.

Apparently both animals have not been carefully or sensitively socialized. Too bad.

In addition, the small cat baby must not even sleep in bed and enjoy closeness and warmth. It’s a baby who needs body contact and security!

Everything but a successful start in a new home where it needs to live 15-20 years.

Maybe you can put the kitten in a family where an equal kitten lives?

Best regards DaLi♀️ ♀️, Leo😺 and Mishu😺

The cats differ from the age and temperament as well as from the sex and do not fit together. You have two single animals there.

It really doesn’t matter at the moment. I understand that you’re putting value on it and that’s good. But the kitten doesn’t care.
