New hamster won’t leave the house?
Hello,
Yesterday afternoon, I got a dwarf hamster. When I put him in his new home, he immediately started exploring, digging, and running around in his wheel. Then he probably went to sleep in the multi-chamber house. We haven't seen him since, and he hasn't come out at night either. I don't think he's eating or drinking anything. I know you're supposed to leave hamsters alone. But I was worried, so I put his water bowl and some food in one of the chambers. Now I plan to leave him alone.
Is this behavior normal? I once had a teddy hamster, and things were completely different back then, so I don't really know much about it.
Good evening DieYoung230409,
Your hamster needs some time to get used up in the first few days, as you have already recognized. Some of the little ranchers dare to get out faster, others need a little longer to get used to the new environment and gain confidence. If you’ve had him since yesterday, I wouldn’t worry about it.
If he dares out on his own, you can start getting used to his hand.

Yeah, I’d say it’s normal. Your hamster needs a while to get used to its surroundings and set up.
