It is logical that the weights ensure that the response behavior, i.e. the acceleration, becomes better. This goes to the expense of the translation because the springs don’t let the weights go far, that is, it no longer reaches the maximum speed because the variomatics does not reach the final translation. It’s either one or the other, either acceleration or maximum speed.

I don’t think you understand the functioning of a variomatic. If you use lighter weights, they move faster to the outside at the same speed, which causes a stronger acceleration. By means of the springs, the light weights are retained earlier, however, so that the belt cannot unfold its full circumference.
