Leaving new and old cats alone?

I bought a new cat yesterday (almost 2 years old) so my "old" cat (almost 3 years old) wouldn't be so lonely anymore. Both are female, but they growl and hiss at each other all the time, which, according to my research, is perfectly normal. I'm just a little worried they'll attack each other, so I'm always following them around to separate them if necessary. Is this okay, or should I leave them alone sometimes? I'm also worried that if I'm not home, they'll fight because they're not getting along so well yet. Should I separate them when I'm not home, just to be safe, or is that not a good idea?
Thanks for the answers in advance.

Why aren’t you informed about a merger before?

What you did was completely wrong.

How would you react if you were right at the door of the apartment, you open, and before you there is a strange person who pushes you to the side, going to your bedroom, opening the windows, and as he throws your furniture out, moving helpers come in with his furniture and start building these in the room?

Would you accept this without protests, arrange yourself with it at some point, or put heaven and hell in motion, get this man back from your apartment?

Please read this through

act afterwards and pray that it is not too late.

Cat reunification is different.

Disconnect them completely and read how it works.
