Hello Chris, make right mouse on the Windows Start button and go to the Disk Management.

Can you find the new SSD below? If so: Right mouse button: and then “New Simple Volume” and/or ” Drive Letters” – depending on how the status is.

Hello Chris, you found the disk management and the new SSD doesn’t show up, right?

What kind of SSD do you have?

Hello Chris, some motherboards are like this:

SATA1~2 ports will be unavailable when installing the M.2 SATA interface module in M.2 slot.

SATA3~4 ports will be unavailable when installing the M.2 interface module in M.2 slot

Therefore, try the SATA data cable once in another SATA port from the motherboard. Try Port, 1, 3, 5, then you tried everything.

If all this doesn’t help, you must exchange the SSD.

This is very strange, just SATA SSDs are recognized very safely without drivers.

Can you check again, (draw current plug before)

  • SSD data cable right in? Try another data cable in another port. If you have an M2 SSD installed, it can be that 2 SATA ports are disabled
  • Try another SATA power cable from the power supply

If both do not help, the SSD will exchange for a Crucial SATA SSD.
