Annoying know-it-all dog owners?

I've had dogs for 20 years, but this time I'm really at my wits' end.

My dog has a boyfriend, and for his sake, I now have to deal with the owner. She's a complete "helicopter mom" and knows everything better. She makes a huge fuss about the dog, googles everything a thousand times, and says nothing and no one is good enough—except for her, of course. She knows everything better and is the ultimate dog expert. Now she's always trying (so far, rather subtly) to transfer her dog stress and expectations onto my dog (WHAT? You only take him out twice?… so my dog gets so much more exercise… my dog gets this, and I offer my dog that). I know, of course, that's nonsense, and my dog has the best life with me. I have much more experience, but I would never impose my opinion on her.

This know-it-all attitude really bothers me, and she's always gossiping about other dog owners. But I don't want to alienate her; I know she'd be immediately offended, and as I said, I only have contact with her because of the dogs.

Does anyone have any idea how to deal with something like this?

Don’t get into a discussion, it doesn’t matter. Nick, smile and go on because you have an urgent appointment.

Oh yes I know these people. Only the ears help to put through. Just don’t start discussing with them or not justifying themselves for anything.

I’m so pain-free now. I don’t listen to them anymore and I’ll let them go.

Always be friendly and say yes. Turn your ears through.

I’m going out of my way. They also begin to “rather” and talk to their own dog.

On the walk I want to deal with my dog, not with nerve saws.

It only helps patience, strong nerves, positive affirmations and maybe a handcuff in your pocket to calm you down.
