Need help?

Hey

I have a camera in my car because I travel a lot

The loop function is set to 3 min so it needs 471.314kb for a video

There is a 32gb SD card built in

Now I'm not so good at converting

How many videos can I make before the card is full?

Is 60 videos about right? Or am I calculating wrong?

Thanks

Well, you just reckon 32 through 0.471314 and get 67.9 out. I don’t have to convert anything.

the “problem” in this calculation is only that a GB is not exactly 1000 MB, but 1024

😉 “problem” with my 32 GB SD card: She only offers 29.7 GB useful memory, the rest of 2,3 GB has been stolen by the manufacturer. There you could easily have 4.9 proof videos with it 😀

And now that I have created 66 such files, I copy them to the SD card, to see how many megabytes still remain free, about 100 😉

If your question is:

Need help?

Then the answer is:

Yes!

Way of calculation:

1 GB = 1024 MB

1 MB = 1024 kB

So 32 GB = 32 x 1024 x 1024 kB = 33554432 kB

A video is 471314 kB / piece.

So the result is 33554432 kB / 471314 kB / piece ≅ 72 pieces

Tip: If the unit of the result is correct, this is a hint that the computational path is right – here the kB units are shortening away and only the unit “piece” remains over 😉

I would have appreciated 60, maybe even a little more

the conversion factor of kb – mb – gb etc. is always 1024 (2 high 9)
