The question is totally stupid – probably it refers to the allocation table where roughly said the storage locations are stored to the files.

Without this information, as with a tape drive, you would have to read all data for each other in order to find the desired file.

However, I would not really consider the allocation table as a database.

What's a hard drive? It's just a place to put data on it.

But if you want to (very) manage a lot of data, then a “Save location” will not help you.

You also want to “start” something with the data. They sort, search for certain things, identify the relationships in the data and much more.

So you also need a software that helps you to divide and store the data meaningfully, connect coherent data with each other, quickly find the information you are looking for (even with very large amounts of data) and so on…

And this software for managing, sorting, searching, finding the data is called “database” (more precisely: DBMS = database management system).

Note:

I don't know if this will help you because we can't know what your teacher wants. To know (or to question in doubt) Your Task. So you have been guilty of the context in your question and we can only guess what the question is about. There are many ways they could be meant and how to answer them. This is one of them.

This is one of the things you can target with this question, yes.

However, this did not come out of the question (at least as you wrote it here) what it is about.

The question is pretty controversial because databases and hard drives are two completely different things.

A hard drive is hardware, a database software.

A hard drive comes without a database, but a database needs at least one hard disk.

Perhaps the question was more about what databases you need if you can simply store data in the file system of the hard disk.

Then the answer would be quite simple:

Because databases are so-called b ACID have properties that a file system does not have.

A database is a hard drive in the network if the local disk in the computer fails you have a backup

I mean to a reef point as a NAS as backup

You can access hard disks online, but you can still help nothing if the disk fails.

The answer is completely wrong. A database is completely different

No. This is a network memory or an external drive. Databases are something else.

This does not necessarily have something to do with each other except that stores both data.

In essence, a database would like to be scalable/safety and integrity. But what do I know about this guy without context?

Greetings

if you don't know it yourself, you don't really have to answer

You probably have the phrase " But what do I know about this guy without context? .” not understood?

We don't know what your question is about. To provide the context (or if necessary to ask the teacher) Your Job. We don't know him and don't sit there in class.

Well, clairvoyant isn't here, as much as I know. Clown.

he didn't say anything. we had no context ourselves, and we asked several times

I believe you.

But we know less than you, because we weren't in class. And I read at least three very good answers here that make sense in terms of content.

do you think we didn't get to ask ourselves?

I don't know, I wasn't there.

Don't bother and let your aggression get out of here.

That's the right one. After all, it was you who criticized a response here, who was just trying to help you. To remember, You have written:

if you don't know it yourself, you don't really have to answer

Our reaction was only Article .

Relax here and help you people free of charge. And even if you had paid for it, your handling would be somewhat questionable.
