Are fog lights mandatory?
Good day,
I have to go to the MOT on Monday, and I installed LED fog light bulbs in my car without a license. Can I just remove the bulbs for the MOT? I don't have any legal ones anymore.
As far as I know, fog lights aren't mandatory. Does that still apply if the device for them exists?
Fog lights are not prescribed if you do not have one, this is also not relevant in the main investigation.
But if your car has one, they must also work otherwise this is a considerable deficiency.
Lt HU Richline / Deficiency Catalogue is already a non-functioning fog lamp a considerable deficiency (just like a low beam).
It also makes sense, because since fog lamps can be operated alone with the limiting lights, a car in which a headlight does not go, looks at the distance like a single-lane vehicle (motor wheel) and can animate other road users to overhaul operations, because they do not correctly detect the width of the arriving vehicle.
So you can only add new lights or leave the LED in it and hope it doesn’t notice. If necessary, the post-examination costs 16 EUR.
If all the fog lights have to be built up.
If the NS are installed, they must also work.
If no NS is installed, it’s not a problem.
Of course, you can simply expand the LEDs, but it doesn’t help you because you probably don’t get the test.
If you need normal light bulbs, you can buy at most gas stations, even on Sunday, or tonight. But you should let them in, with fog the view is bad, so the traffic is happy if it is not additionally blinded by illegal spotlights.
What is installed, it must also be radio-toning, without if and but.
And without built-in legal lights, you can save the ride to the TÜV.
If your car has installed foglights, they must also work. Otherwise the car does not exist the HU.
