A Polo 4 and a green sticker?

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a VW Polo Mk4 facelift model from 2005 onwards. Some already have a green sticker at the dealer, while others don't. What do I do if a Polo doesn't have this sticker? Do I have to do an emissions test first, or how does that work?

Polo 4 and green plaque?

If the vehicle meets at least the emission standard Euro 1 (for petrol engines) or Euro 3 (with soot filter), or Euro 4 (without or with soot filter, for diesel engines). Year 2005 should normally meet at least Euro 4, so in any case you should get the green plaque.

The green plaque gets every gasoline who has a G Kat. This is the case in the middle of the 80s. The plaque costs between 5 and 10€ and is issued by each workshop

In the passenger car sector, there were petrol drivers without G-cat until the end of 1992, as from 01.01.1993, the Euro 1 came, which could no longer be included without G-cat. Only the forerunners (e.g., but of course not all models) offered him around the middle of the 80s.

If your car doesn’t have one, but you need one, you have to buy one.
