Hello, for a few years now I've noticed that my toenail to the right of my toe looks completely different. At first it was hard and slightly bumpy, then I used a nail fungus polish from the pharmacy and it became more rubbery and softer and yellowish at the tip and almost impossible to cut….

It’s most likely to look like a rash, or after a baptism.
Many write strangulation (so choke), but if you don’t do it with a totally thick band, it looks thinner and more cutting.
So more likely a rash because you would have noticed a brunning.
