Ingrown toenail after accident, does anyone have experience?

Please excuse the following description; it's not very pleasant. Anyone with sensitive skin should stop reading here.

Six months ago, an oak slab fell on my toe. The nail bed was sewn back on. The tip of my toe was also sewn together with several stitches, so it feels like scar tissue. I haven't had any major problems so far, but two days ago, the front of my toe started to hurt a bit, especially on the right edge. Today, a white border formed, and it went away very quickly. I'm going to the doctor next week (just to be on the safe side). Does anyone have any tips for me beforehand, or has anyone been in a similar situation? I'm worried that the nail is starting to overgrow at the front too. Thanks for any comments 🙂

I’ve been behind me several times. With me regular foot bath (at least 30 minutes, best 2 times a day) has helped with warm water and core soap. During the foot bath, stretch the corresponding “skin rim” of the nail to the side (to the outside). Because by the pains that may be present, “feel”. Then dry properly and place a disinfectant or antiseptic solution. Before you put closed shoes on the corresponding toe. Just take off the dressing in front of the foot bath and shower, and if you go back to the closed shoes reconnect. Then it will be patient. Future to prevent all cutting the nail always straight. If you don’t even care about it or if there is no improvement after months of treatment, there are various surgical treatment options in which the nail can still grow again (the best advice for a surgeon, if it comes to this) Otherwise, there can also be no harm to a podologist.

It was sometimes only 2 to 3 weeks. Sometimes also 1.5 months. What is important is whether you are feeling better with the methods I have mentioned. If that’s the way it goes.
