Everything's fine after jump-starting, but not after turning it off?
Hello, I have the following problem: My car was parked from Thursday to Monday morning. Last week, everything was running smoothly. This morning, I tried to start my car, and the lights etc. were working normally. However, it dragged for a moment and then did nothing except click. We then jump-started the car and I drove to work, which is about 30 km away. After that, the car sat for about 4 hours and then wouldn't start again. I've been driving the car for 160,000 km, and it was built in 2012. Could it really only be the battery?
This looks like a broken battery. Then you can start with bridges, but the battery is no longer charging.
Look at the battery how old it is. Either the installation date is embossed somewhere or the production month and year in one of the poles
The battery’s working. This is not unusual after 10 years and 160 Tkm. At least it’s on the lighting machine, but that can only tell you your workshop.
I recommend regular maintenance in a solid workshop. There, such (standard) anger is usually saved.
The battery is a wear part.
10 years and 160 000 km is a respectable performance.
As you describe it, it is definitely over.
It has a short circuit in itself and can no longer store a charge.
Something like that comes very often.
If the alternator had a defect, i.e. would no longer load, then a red control lamp would have to burn during the ride.
Hi, is the starter tortured? then it’s on the battery.
or does he not make any mucks at all, the lighting and the instruments do not shine weaker when starting? Then it’s the starter.
Yeah, that sounds like a dead battery. It has voltage for lighting, but hardly any capacity. It is no longer enough to start.
