Get your high school diploma after training?
Hey, I urgently need some advice!
It would be really great if someone read this.
My school career was somewhat turbulent. I always attended Gymnasium (high school) and was a student in the top 2-3 grades. However, things in my personal life didn't quite go as planned, and so I graduated after 9th grade with a (very good) Hauptschule (secondary school) certificate.
I was actually planning to do a vocational training program, which would automatically give me a high school diploma, and then start my own business. My goal was always to be independent and not have a boss. I'd also really like to go abroad.
I'm currently doing internships in various skilled trades, and to be honest, I'm a bit desperate because I'm not entirely sure if it's the right fit for me. The problem is, I've been telling everyone and my family for years that I want to go into the skilled trades and definitely not get my high school diploma.
I was really convinced of that.
Now I'm starting to doubt it. Could I theoretically do a vocational training course with a secondary school diploma and then get my high school diploma? Where and how would that work? What would I do afterward? What job do you recommend for me to emigrate and become independent?
What do I do if I don't do any training beforehand? I'm not currently in school, but I'm only doing internships, which means I won't be able to get my secondary school diploma this year.

If you don’t do training, do either your school or go to work for a time to find you. I was once a major student and worked up to an academic. I have my bachelor and now make my master.
I also thought that I would never study, let alone Abitur. But this is a completely different background story than yours. Although private problems, I think a different one than yours, as I read.
I would advise you to do some internships in another field of work, work for a time to find yourself or do yourself.
I wanted to do a lesson after my graduation, but my wish occupations, where I had several at the time, demanded at least medium-sized maturity/real school degree. Therefore, I did everything and instead of training to retrieve my Abi, on the FOS.
But honestly. Maybe do an education. Why?
With a training you can go to the BOS, you should decide to make your Abi to get back your Abi and the best thing is that you get parental Bafög that you NOT have to pay back.
This is my advice to you.
Even though I’d rather have gone to the BOS, I regret my way of education or something.
I would definitely advise you to a training. Something you like best. Do the training, then you have the degree and something in your pocket.
You then have your 2-3 years to think about how it goes on. It’s important, you have something in your pocket for the first time, you can’t take it anymore.
Or, you’re going to go back and forth and think about what’s better…
