My mum doesn't cook, is that normal?
Hello! I'm 15 and I'm not sure if it's normal when my mum doesn't cook. I always see my friend's parents cooking something every 2 or 3 days, which makes me a bit sad because my mum only cooks once or twice a month at the most. Usually when she cooks, it's just dishes that need to be heated up in a pan or things like frozen pizza, and occasionally a casserole. It's been like this since I was about 10, if not younger. Back then, she cooked a bit more often, but yeah. I can cook pretty well now, so I can understand if she doesn't feel like it, but it's still her fault, isn't it? Every now and then I cook so I have a hot meal and don't just eat ready meals, and she thinks that she gets something out of it too. I think it would be okay if we took turns cooking, but when only one of us cooks, it's pretty sad.
By the way, it's not because she doesn't have enough time to cook because she doesn't work and spends most of her time just watching series on her phone.

It’s not her duty. She’s gonna make you eat.
Look at the advantages, you are already able to cook and take care of yourself. Many of your peers aren’t. I wouldn’t find it sad, I’d see it as an advantage for your whole life.
But I understand what you’re thinking. You lack your mother’s allowance in this case. But that’s something completely different and you shouldn’t make it at dinner, but at many other things. How does your mother treat you, how does she talk to you? Is she interested in you and your life, etc. You should measure it, not cooking. It can be simple that she knows she can’t cook well, or she just doesn’t like cooking. You have to admit that to her too, because she is also just a human being.

Sit with your parents….. or just with your mother…. offer to you with the daily preparation of a main meal. “Finally, you want to learn to be prepared for later if you are to stand on your own legs in a few years.”
You’re looking at… No Cooking is not a “bright” as a mother/ parent who is mainly home.
In the case of children up to primary school age, they are still small, and they need a daily meal. You are now 15, so you can bring yourself in to prepare one or other meal for the family.
I can’t imagine your mother’s nix makes you sit at home and hang on the phone. Everyone has something to do. Even if you don’t have a job. One cares about relatives, the others clean up the family every day (plus fight laundry, plus keep home to some extent clean). Some people continue to form or work from home.
And then there are people who resign at some point because no one else crumbles a finger at home. Sometimes the menopause increases, the exhaustion is reached faster after a short effort.
And sometimes something else hangs behind it, something that goes deeper and cannot be “moved”.

Is your mother at least appreciated by you at home? Will she thank you for the housework or if she does something for one of you? Or if she cooks?
If you don’t feel valued, if you notice that you can do it right and don’t care about your own stuff yourself, when you are confronted with flat-rate things at home (you don’t even have to be formulated directly, you realize it in dealing with aliens), then you can eventually stumble inside. That one might think, “What should I do with cooking, etc if nobody likes it or doesn’t care about it anyway?”
I think you shouldn’t forget that.

Thank you. Unfortunately it is not possible to talk to my mum every time I tried it she meant, for example, that I am much better in cooking or that she does not always like cooking etc.
It’s a shame she doesn’t cook. It is not their duty, which is available for daily meal, but it is quite nice if there is a freshly prepared hot meal. And the scent first….!

Well, learn to cook yourself.
Your mother’s been bnei since 10. Year of life what changed? So she has problems? Or less money or something?
Swing the wooden spoon yourself.
Here are a few practical recipes:
Pasta with tomato sauce, onions and sausage (with breadcrumbs).

Melt butter with a little salt until brown, add breadcrumbs and fry until brown, stirring frequently.
Let it cool down spread out on several plates!
Cook pasta.
Chop 3 onions, garlic if desired, and sausage.
Fry the sausage and then place it on a plate.
Fry the onions with garlic, if desired, and season with salt and chili. Add the sausage, pour in water, and simmer for at least 30 minutes.
Add ketchup or tomato sauce of your choice and thicken with a sauce thickener if desired. Season to taste.

Fry pasta with lightly salted brown butter.

Serve:
Place pasta on the plate with the sauce.
Place a fairly large amount of fried breadcrumbs on one corner of the pasta plate and test. If it tastes good, add the breadcrumbs a little at a time.
Tastes like breading.
A schnitzel only tastes good because of its breading. Pasta with tomato sauce, onions, and sausage is also delicious. That's the perfect combination, and it tastes twice as good.

Here is the recipe for a pasta salad.
Per serving:
Weigh out 50g of pasta and cook.
125 g minced meat (fried) cold
35 g peas
125 g mayo
Cook the pasta and let it cool.
Mix all ingredients and chill.
But don't add more peas otherwise it won't taste good.
Add a bratwurst or meatball.

Here is the recipe for Quarkkeulchen:
500 g boiled potatoes, cold
375 g low-fat curd cheese
150 g flour
65 g sugar
2 eggs
1 pinch of salt
80g raisins, optionally soaked in water for at least 10 hours.

Mash the boiled potatoes without the skin.
Mix everything together and fry 3 spoonfuls of it in the pan (don't forget to turn it over) or roll it into a rolling pin and cut it into thick slices and then fry them.
Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and eat hot.
Alternatively, applesauce is also OK.
If you have too many, you can freeze them in portions once they have been fried.

Here is the recipe for a casserole.
Boil potatoes, peel and cut into pieces.
3 cut onions and sausage.
Fry onions with salt and then fry sausage.
Place on a plate.
Fry potatoes with salt and then add onions with sausage.
Heat everything up again and add 6-7 eggs, breaking up the yolks, and a little salt. Cover the pan and cook gently at 80 degrees Celsius for 12-15 minutes without stirring.
Season as desired with and/or pepper, chili, paprika, possibly garlic (fry with the meat), possibly caraway.
Add Worcestershire sauce to your meal. I like Apple's sauce best, for example, from Edeka or REWE.

If there is too much, heat it up again in the microwave later or it tastes good cold too.

What also tastes good:
Chicken liver with onion sauce and mashed potatoes with onions.
Sorry but simple:
500g chicken liver (thawed for at least 12 hours)
4-6 onions.
1 package of mashed potatoes and milk
2 x 2-4 diced onions
1 package of mashed potatoes and milk
Fry diced onions twice for the liver and mashed potatoes.
Dip the liver in flour and fry with margarine and salt. Pour in water and add 2-3 fried onions. Simmer for 30 minutes, then thicken with a sauce thickener.
Meanwhile, prepare mashed potatoes according to package directions and stir in 2-3 fried onions. Serve together.

Make your own meatballs:
Fry 3 onions (possibly with garlic) for the meatballs (with salt) and let cool.
Fry another 3 onions (possibly with garlic) (with salt) for the sauce and set aside.
Mix 500g of minced meat (half and half) with 3-4 eggs, around 100g of breadcrumbs (until the consistency is right), the fried onions for the meatballs, salt, mustard and pepper.
Form 80-100g meatballs and fry. Add the onions for the sauce, water, salt, and simmer for 30 minutes.
Keep the meatballs warm and thicken the sauce with a sauce thickener and season to taste.
Served with potatoes and red cabbage (sorry, but from a jar).
You can also freeze any excess meatballs in portions once they are fried.
If you make meatballs, that's 9 meatballs. That's enough meat for 9 meals. Add potatoes and red cabbage, and you'll be full 9 times over.

Fried potatoes with fried onions, red cabbage and fried egg.

Potatoes with spinach and eggs
3 potatoes – 20 cents
250g spinach – 30 cents
2 eggs – 40 cents.

Jacket potatoes, herb curd, liver sausage, butter and salt.

Baked Camembert from the supermarket with extra cranberries is also good.

Cook rice.
Dice 3 onions and fry.

Boil chicken thighs in lightly salted water, then remove from the bones and cut into small pieces.

extra water is needed.
Put everything in a pot and heat briefly again.
You can also eat this on 2 days if you keep it in the fridge.
