A SIMLOCK is set up by the provider so that you can’t use cards other than your own, but after 2 years you can let the phone unlock, you get a code and go.

The A1 network has been switched off since the 90s, which was the analogue network, the provider is on the phone via D1 D2 or the E-Net. So, you can forget that, depending on the sim-lock, it can even be that only one card goes for it that was there. But if it’s 2 years old, you can just let it be unlocked.
