My disk usage on Steam is at 0, can anyone please help me?
Hi, I have a problem where when I want to download the Cyberpunk 2077 update, for example, my drive usage is at 0 and when it increases, my HDD runs at 90-99%. I'll explain it in more detail: when I download the update for Cyberpunk 2077 or Ghost Recon, I currently have 467kB/s and a maximum of 485KB/s and a total of 53.7MB (I have a bad internet connection 😅) But my drive usage is at 0bytes/s and that for about 2 minutes and after 2 minutes it increases to around 31Mb and when I look in the task manager, I see that my HDD is running at 90-99%. And that would be for the entire download, so for 2 hours. Can someone please help me? What can I do to get it back to normal? Oh, one more thing: this isn't the case with all games. At the moment, it's only happening with the new updates for Cyberpunk and Ghostrecon. I don't have this problem with other games. It's just a shame because I bought Cyberpunk for €60 and now I can't play it anymore because the problem occurs as soon as I start downloading the new update. I've already changed my download region, but that didn't help, and I've also cleared the Steam download cache, but that didn't help either.

So, Steam will send the data from the server to a buffer store on your PC, from there will be unpacked in the game directory…
So it’s always downloaded and then unpacked, in pieces… In some cases, the download is so fast (knappe 500 mbit at me) and the processor and the NVME also that you get everything unpacked during the download…
A hard disk can be described at a maximum of 50 MB/s, so it’s okay with you…
up to the lame line, you can change nix, besides you build faster SSD (write speed around 550 MB/s) or NVME’s (write speed about 3500MB/s – open to the top, with newer variants) and of course a processor that unpacks the fast enough…
Ok So my processor is an AMD Ryzen7 2700x my SSD is a Maxtor Z1 SSD480Gb and the HDD is a Toshiba HDWD 120 but that the HDD has to run to 90-99% but I think I have something to do with Steam because the other updates do not run to 90-99, or even generally when I charge myself from other games updates, that is not up to 90-99% and the drive load. The one with Cyberpunk and Ghostrecon is somehow such an exception

Steam itself is on the SSD and the games of Steam are installed on the HDD.
