Do I have to register a business if I stream on Twitch?

I recently started streaming and would like to add a donation button so that anyone (if they want) can support me financially (for new equipment).

Do I then have to register a business? And do I have to pay taxes directly?

Thanks

As soon as you regularly earn revenue through streaming and track a winner’s intention, this is considered a commercial activity. In this case, you are obliged to register a business – whether your income comes from donations, subscriptions or advertising.

There are no tax-free limits for commercial income: Taxes will be charged from the first euro and the tax return will also be mandatory.

At the beginning, you can use the small business management system, which offers you some room for manoeuvre: you don’t have to double bookkeeping and can submit a simple income surplus account (EÜR).

Therefore, you must register your activity with the relevant trade office.

One more tip: Read thoroughly into the subject of taxes and self-employment or get a tax advisor directly – this will save you many unpleasant surprises later. :-

Thank you.

You have to register for everything a business you intend to earn money. There are no boundaries here either. The trade office is usually very cunent when you report your business lately, but you have to tax the revenues.
