Do I have to sell all my stocks and ETF shares if I emigrate from Germany to Portugal?

I have a securities account with Trerepublic. Everything is registered so that I am subject to tax in Germany.

If I emigrate to Portugal, what happens to my stocks and ETF holdings in Traderepublic?

Do I have to sell everything and buy new ones in Portugal? That way, I'll make a loss.

Or can I simply keep my stocks and ETF shares with Traderepublic and say that I am no longer subject to tax in Germany? What happens then?

Can they simply sell my shares against my will and kick me out?

You can also transfer your depot to another broker. Just write the support with Ner Address Change.

The Trade Republic can stop you because you don’t live in Germany anymore. Add the support of Republic Trade.
