Hi! In the lockdown period, I tried with my band about the program JamKazam virtually in the home office (I edrums and vocals, keyboards, guitar, the bass had no desire).
For this you need Each one computer, a current two-channel interface and the JamKazam software incl. Registration (free of charge with restrictions is enough, but then the usage time is limited … at least that was so then). The whole thing then plays in an online session on the JamKazam server. Important: the computer must be connected to the router by cable, WLan does not go.
With the corresponding bandwidth it goes even with camera, but was not possible with us. The headphone is connected to the interface and everyone should have a micro or you can’t communicate, so a two-channel interface. We always had a cell phone with a Whatsapp group lying in parallel, especially in the initial phase it often occurred to failures and problems. Thus, the first samples were more marked by adjustments of the technique, but after some time we were able to sample almost 2 hours.
Latenzen was still there, sometimes more times less, you have to clean yourself up and test the software accordingly…
On the bottom it helped to keep the band alive and it was better than nothing to do. and when everything went well, it was almost like live …
