MSI G24C4 Curved HDMI problem?

Hello,

I have the following problem: I wanted to connect my PS5 to the monitor mentioned above via HDMI. But now my image is jerking up and down, like this.

I replaced the HDMI cable with no success. The original PS5 cable had the same problem. Connected a different device—the laptop had the same problem. Using a PC instead of a DP HDMI cable worked perfectly. No distortion, no stuttering, nothing.

Okay, I know the monitor only has HDMI 1.4, but according to the manufacturer, MSI, it should also be compatible with the PS5 at 120Hz. Besides, the problem isn't just with the PS5.

Unfortunately, I don't know what to do anymore – I'm looking forward to some help.

Many thanks in advance!

Sounds like a problem with the HDCP handshake between the devices. Here are a few approaches that could help:

1. HDMI standards check: Switch to the correct HDMI input with the correct version on the monitor.

Two. Customize display settings: In the PS5 settings set the HDMI video output to the correct mode.

3. Reset monitor: In the menu of the monitor, restore the factory settings.

4. Use HDMI adapters: Sometimes an adapter helps to adapt the DRM protection requirements.

Five. Firmware updates: Check whether there are current updates for the PS5 or the monitor.

If the problem still exists, unfortunately it can be a defect on the monitor. Maybe try it in another place to exclude it.
