Moving without a job?
Hello, I wanted to get some information from you.
I would like to move to Berlin.
I currently have an apartment and a job and am not dependent on the job center, but I would like to simply get a new foothold. To answer my question: If I'm laid off, could I then register with the job center in Berlin? Or would I need a new job first before I can move.
The job center is only responsible for you when you live in Berlin. The procedure would be as follows:
But it will fail at the first step. No one will rent you an apartment there if you can’t do a job in Berlin with regular income. So it would be more useful to look for a job there.
If you can move third parties to Berlin without financial support, just do it.
Then apply to the relevant ALG 2 job centre if there is a claim.
Better.
If you cancel the current job yourself, an ALG 2 penalty may threaten in Berlin.
Without moving a job, not the smartest option. It would be better if you already have a contract of employment and then look for an apartment.
If you’re quitting, you can naturally report to the job center. But they won’t just fund you a new apartment.
Find a job, then an apartment.
As long as you don’t have any services from the state, you can move where you want.
You don’t have to ask anyone for permission. Whether you can find accommodation without a job in Berlin is another question.
