Buying a motorcycle from Luxembourg to Germany?

Good morning, I would like to buy a motorcycle from Luxembourg soon. The machine is still registered. COC papers are available.

Now my question: Can I bring the motorcycle with Luxembourg license plates to Germany and simply deregister/re-register it in my name here? Or does the motorcycle have to be deregistered in Luxembourg first?

Please only answer if you are 100% sure.

Thanks

as an employee of a car registration authority: you can register it directly. the licensing authority informs about the kba in flensburg the licensing authority in Luxembourgemburg.

yes, you can, you need the Luxembourgish vehicle papers and a purchase contract. If the motorcycle is older than 2 years, you need to have a main examination beforehand and take the tüv report with you to the registration office. see on the website whether the vehicle has to be presented.

Why should it be forbidden to travel around with a foreign vehicle or with a German in another European country?

It would be easy to report it there and allow it here if there are no technical regulations to be observed.

but that means you need to transport it here. So do it here and let you best advise you in a registration office beforehand, which is to be taken into account in the registration of a vehicle with foreign registration.

But let the owner make a statement that you can drive with the motorcycle in Germany. otherwise you can have problems with traffic control or an accident before it is re-registered.
