Engine oil ACEA C2/C3?
Good day,
A while ago, I had my trusted mechanic change my oil. I bought a 5W40 oil (ACEA C2) for my diesel car. It used to be 5W30 ACEA C3. However, my boyfriend's system only allows ACEA C3 for his car. (I didn't know, and still don't know, what ACEA C2 or C3 means). Now I have the C2 oil in my car, and my question is, could I have problems? The car is 10 years old.
Best regards
C3 has fewer ashes incineration.
If your car got C3 prescribed, use MUSST you C3.
My trader C2 instead of C3 made me inside the warranty – the manufacturer has been observing and he almost lost his dealer status.
ACEA is a specification. C testifies “engine oil for petrol and diesel engines with new exhaust gas aftertreatment systems “
This is a quality level of engine oils. The numbers behind this are another substage.
Imagine it like fruit. You want to bake an apple cake.
C = apples
C2 = Red apples.
However, there are still great differences in red apples some are suitable for your cake and others are not. So I strongly recommend looking into your manual and looking for the manufacturer’s specification. You should only use oils that correspond to the manufacturer’s specification.
This, by the way, has nothing to do with the price or quality, just whether it is suitable for your purpose (apple cake/ (e.g. in the right life DEIN MOTOR).

You should use only the released oil.
If the oil you bought has the manufacturer’s release, that’s it. If not, I would change it
These are different standards. It may be that both are approved for your vehicle. You can’t say more precisely without knowing the model.
